The Stoneleigh P wasn't built overnight - it's been holding down roots in Dallas for over five decades!
The original space was home to Stoneleigh Pharmacy from 1923 to the early 1970s when a group of investors including Tom Garrison and Theresa Alexander decided the area needed a proper neighborhood watering hole. They leaned into the pharmacy theme, kept the antique medicine cabinets, and (legend has it) wiped off 'harmacy' - and the Stoneleigh P was born.
From day one The P was a hit with Dallas' thinkers, drinkers, and misfits - the kind of artistic crowd that ran the city's booming print ad scene in the 70s and 80s. Ad execs, writers, artists, and other assorted weirdos claimed their barstools and The P quickly became more than just a bar. It became a hub, a hangout, a family (the rowdy kind). Throughout the years The P has survived a fire, a war on Christmas, a relocation, and so much more.
Fifty-two years in and we're still pouring stiff drinks, still keeping it weird, and still proud to be Dallas' favorite neighborhood bar.
